Two Hundred and Twenty Six Miles

With just a backpack, three of us embarked on a two hundred and twenty six mile walk, following the way along a coastal path. It was so freeing with the wind in our hair, not a care in the world, except to be surprised by what was around the next corner. This series of paintings captures some of the wide open spaces that we encountered along the way. They are places where I experienced a deep sense of awe, wonder, stillness and a sense of completeness, where everything made sense. The vastness of the open skies are comforting, as I realise I am not alone, but that there is one bigger than me.
